When the donkey saw the angel of the

, she lay down under Balaam; so Balaam was angry and struck the donkey with his staff.

And when the ass saw the angel of the LORD, she fell down under Balaam: and Balaam's anger was kindled, and he smote the ass with a staff.

When the donkey saw the angel of the Lord, she crouched down under Balaam. So he became furious and beat the donkey with his stick.

moved farther down the road and stood in a place too narrow for the donkey to get by at all.

This time when the donkey saw the angel, it lay down under Balaam. In a fit of rage Balaam beat the animal again with his staff.
