Matthew 8:8-13
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 8
8
But the centurion replied, 'Lord, I am not worthy for You to come under my roof, but just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9
For I also am a man under authority, with soldiers under me; and I say to this one, ‘Go!’ and he goes, and to another, ‘Come!’ and he comes, and to my slave, ‘Do this!’ and he does
it.
'
10
Now when Jesus heard
this,
He was amazed and said to those who were following, 'Truly I say to you, I have not found such great faith with anyone in Israel.
11
And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and recline
at the table
with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven;
12
but the sons of the kingdom will be thrown out into the outer darkness; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
13
And Jesus said to the centurion, 'Go; it shall be done for you as you have believed.' And the servant was healed at that
very
moment.
King James Version
Chapter 8
8
The centurion answered and said, Lord, I am not worthy that thou shouldest come under my roof: but speak the word only, and my servant shall be healed.
9
For I am a man under authority, having soldiers under me: and I say to this man, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.
10
When Jesus heard it, he marvelled, and said to them that followed, Verily I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
11
And I say unto you, That many shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven.
12
But the children of the kingdom shall be cast out into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
13
And Jesus said unto the centurion, Go thy way; and as thou hast believed, so be it done unto thee. And his servant was healed in the selfsame hour.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 8
8
"Lord," the centurion replied, "I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9
For I too am a man under authority, having soldiers under my command. I say to this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and to another, ‘Come,’ and he comes; and to my servant, ‘Do this!’ and he does it."
10
Hearing this, Jesus was amazed and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with so great a faith.
11
I tell you that many will come from east and west to share the banquet with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12
But the sons of the kingdom will be thrown into the outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
13
Then Jesus told the centurion, "Go. As you have believed, let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that very moment.
New Living Translation
Chapter 8
8
But the officer said, 'Lord, I am not worthy to have you come into my home. Just say the word from where you are, and my servant will be healed.
9
I know this because I am under the authority of my superior officers, and I have authority over my soldiers. I only need to say, ‘Go,’ and they go, or ‘Come,’ and they come. And if I say to my slaves, ‘Do this,’ they do it.'
10
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed. Turning to those who were following him, he said, 'I tell you the truth, I haven’t seen faith like this in all Israel!
11
And I tell you this, that many Gentiles will come from all over the world — from east and west — and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob at the feast in the Kingdom of Heaven.
12
But many Israelites — those for whom the Kingdom was prepared — will be thrown into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
13
Then Jesus said to the Roman officer, 'Go back home. Because you believed, it has happened.' And the young servant was healed that same hour.

11
I tell you, many will come from east and west and recline at table with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven,

Chapter 8
8
The centurion replied, "Lord, I do not deserve to have you come under my roof. But just say the word, and my servant will be healed.
9
For I myself am a man under authority, with soldiers under me. I tell this one, ‘Go,’ and he goes; and that one, ‘Come,’ and he comes. I say to my servant, ‘Do this,’ and he does it."
10
When Jesus heard this, he was amazed and said to those following him, "Truly I tell you, I have not found anyone in Israel with such great faith.
11
I say to you that many will come from the east and the west, and will take their places at the feast with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12
But the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."
13
Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go! Let it be done just as you believed it would." And his servant was healed at that moment.
New King James Version
Chapter 8

When Jesus heard
it,
He marveled, and said to those who followed, “Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!
11
And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven.
12
But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness. There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.”
13
Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed,
so
let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.
