When the crowds heard
this,
they were astonished at His teaching.

But when the Pharisees heard that

had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
35
And one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him:

But when the Pharisees had heard that he had put the Sadducees to silence, they were gathered together.

Then one of them, which was a lawyer, asked him a question, tempting him, and saying,
