Chapter 20
5Again he went out about the sixth and the ninth hour, and did the same thing. 6And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing around; and he *said to them, ‘Why have you been standing here idle all day long?’ 7They *said to him, ‘Because no one hired us.’ He *said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’
8Now when evening came, the owner of the vineyard *said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, starting with the last group to the first.’
9When those hired about the eleventh hour came, each one received a denarius.
10And so when those hired first came, they thought that they would receive more; but each of them also received a denarius.
11When they received it, they grumbled at the landowner,

5About noon and about three, he went out again and did the same thing. 6Then about five he went and found others standing around and said to them, 'Why have you been standing here all day doing nothing? 'New Living Translation
Chapter 20
5So they went to work in the vineyard. At noon and again at three o’clock he did the same thing.
8That evening he told the foreman to call the workers in and pay them, beginning with the last workers first.
9When those hired at five o’clock were paid, each received a full day’s wage.
10When those hired first came to get their pay, they assumed they would receive more. But they, too, were paid a day’s wage.
11When they received their pay, they protested to the owner,
