Matthew 18:16-35

Chapter 18
16But if he does not listen to you, take one or two more with you, so that ON THE TESTIMONY OF TWO OR THREE WITNESSES EVERY MATTER MAY BE CONFIRMED. 17And if he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, he is to be to you as a Gentile and a tax collector. 18Truly I say to you, whatever you bind on earth shall have been bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall have been loosed in heaven.
19Again I say to you, that if two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by My Father who is in heaven.
20For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.'
21Then Peter came up and said to Him, 'Lord, how many times shall my brother sin against me and I still forgive him? Up to seven times?'
22Jesus *said to him, 'I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy-seven times.
23For this reason the kingdom of heaven is like a king who wanted to settle accounts with his slaves.
24And when he had begun to settle them, one who owed him ten thousand talents was brought to him.
25But since he did not have the means to repay, his master commanded that he be sold, along with his wife and children and all that he had, and repayment be made.
26So the slave fell to the ground and prostrated himself before him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you everything.’
27And the master of that slave felt compassion, and he released him and forgave him the debt.
28But that slave went out and found one of his fellow slaves who owed him a hundred denarii; and he seized him and began to choke him, saying, ‘Pay back what you owe!’
29So his fellow slave fell to the ground and began to plead with him, saying, ‘Have patience with me and I will repay you.’
30But he was unwilling, and went and threw him in prison until he would pay back what was owed.
31So when his fellow slaves saw what had happened, they were deeply grieved and came and reported to their master all that had happened.
32Then summoning him, his master *said to him, ‘You wicked slave, I forgave you all that debt because you pleaded with me.
33Should you not also have had mercy on your fellow slave, in the same way that I had mercy on you?’
34And his master, moved with anger, handed him over to the torturers until he would repay all that was owed him.
35My heavenly Father will also do the same to you, if each of you does not forgive his brother from your heart.'

22Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven.
23Therefore is the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants.
24And when he had begun to reckon, one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents.
25But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made.
26The servant therefore fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
27Then the lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt.
28But the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest.
29And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all.
30And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
31So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and told unto their lord all that was done.
32Then his lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me:
33Shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
34And his lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
35So likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.

26"At this, the servant fell facedown before him and said, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you everything.'
27Then the master of that servant had compassion, released him, and forgave him the loan.
29"At this, his fellow servant fell down and began begging him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'
30But he wasn't willing. Instead, he went and threw him into prison until he could pay what was owed.
31When the other servants saw what had taken place, they were deeply distressed and went and reported to their master everything that had happened.
32Then, after he had summoned him, his master said to him, 'You wicked servant! I forgave you all that debt because you begged me.
33Shouldn't you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you? '
34And because he was angry, his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured until he could pay everything that was owed.
35So also my heavenly Father will do to you unless every one of you forgives his brother or sister from your heart."

Chapter 18
16But if you are unsuccessful, take one or two others with you and go back again, so that everything you say may be confirmed by two or three witnesses. 17If the person still refuses to listen, take your case to the church. Then if he or she won’t accept the church’s decision, treat that person as a pagan or a corrupt tax collector.
19I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you.
20For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.'
23Therefore, the Kingdom of Heaven can be compared to a king who decided to bring his accounts up to date with servants who had borrowed money from him.
24In the process, one of his debtors was brought in who owed him millions of dollars.
25He couldn’t pay, so his master ordered that he be sold — along with his wife, his children, and everything he owned — to pay the debt.
26But the man fell down before his master and begged him, ‘Please, be patient with me, and I will pay it all.’
27Then his master was filled with pity for him, and he released him and forgave his debt.
29His fellow servant fell down before him and begged for a little more time. ‘Be patient with me, and I will pay it,’ he pleaded.
30But his creditor wouldn’t wait. He had the man arrested and put in prison until the debt could be paid in full.
31When some of the other servants saw this, they were very upset. They went to the king and told him everything that had happened.
32Then the king called in the man he had forgiven and said, ‘You evil servant! I forgave you that tremendous debt because you pleaded with me.
33Shouldn’t you have mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had mercy on you?’
34Then the angry king sent the man to prison to be tortured until he had paid his entire debt.

34And in anger his master delivered him to the jailers, until he should pay all his debt.

31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were outraged and went and told their master everything that had happened.
32Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to.
33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?'
34In anger his master handed him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.
