Matthew 17:2-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
2
And He was transfigured before them; and His face shone like the sun, and His garments became as white as light.
3
And behold, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with Him.
4
Peter responded and said to Jesus, 'Lord, it is good that we are here. If You want, I will make three tabernacles here: one for You, one for Moses, and one for Elijah.'
5
While he was still speaking, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and behold, a voice from the cloud said, 'This is My beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased; listen to Him!'
6
When the disciples heard
this,
they fell face down to the ground and were terrified.
7
And Jesus came to
them
and touched them and said, 'Get up, and do not be afraid.'
8
And raising their eyes, they saw no one except Jesus Himself alone.
King James Version
Chapter 17
2
And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
3
And, behold, there appeared unto them Moses and Elias talking with him.
4
Then answered Peter, and said unto Jesus, Lord, it is good for us to be here: if thou wilt, let us make here three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias.
5
While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him.
6
And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their face, and were sore afraid.
7
And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
8
And when they had lifted up their eyes, they saw no man, save Jesus only.
Christian Standard Bible

3
Suddenly, Moses and Elijah appeared to them, talking with him.
4
Then Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it’s good for us to be here. I will set up three shelters here: one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah."
5
While he was still speaking, suddenly a bright cloud covered them, and a voice from the cloud said: "This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well-pleased. Listen to him!"
6
When the disciples heard this, they fell facedown and were terrified.
7
Jesus came up, touched them, and said, "Get up; don’t be afraid."
8
When they looked up they saw no one except Jesus alone.

5
But even as he spoke, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said, 'This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy. Listen to him.'
6
The disciples were terrified and fell face down on the ground.
7
Then Jesus came over and touched them. 'Get up,' he said. 'Don’t be afraid.'
