23After He had sent the crowds away, He went up on the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone. 24But the boat was already a long distance from the land, battered by the waves; for the wind was contrary. 25And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. 26When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, 'It is a ghost!' 23After dismissing the crowds, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. Well into the night, he was there alone. 24Meanwhile, the boat was already some distance from land, battered by the waves, because the wind was against them. 25Jesus came toward them walking on the sea very early in the morning. 26When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. "It's a ghost! " they said, and they cried out in fear.New Living Translation
24Meanwhile, the disciples were in trouble far away from land, for a strong wind had risen, and they were fighting heavy waves.
25About three o’clock in the morning Jesus came toward them, walking on the water.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the water, they were terrified. In their fear, they cried out, 'It’s a ghost!'
