Matthew 12:21-26
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
21
AND IN HIS NAME THE GENTILES WILL HOPE.'
22
Then a demon-possessed man
who was
blind and unable to speak was brought to Jesus, and He healed him so that the man who was unable to speak talked and could see.
23
And all the crowds were amazed and were saying, 'This man cannot be the Son of David, can he?'
24
But when the Pharisees heard
this,
they said, 'This man casts out demons only by Beelzebul the ruler of the demons.'
25
And knowing their thoughts,
Jesus
said to them, 'Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste; and no city or house divided against itself will stand.
26
And if Satan is casting out Satan, he has become divided against himself; how then will his kingdom stand?
King James Version
Chapter 12
21
And in his name shall the Gentiles trust.
22
Then was brought unto him one possessed with a devil, blind, and dumb: and he healed him, insomuch that the blind and dumb both spake and saw.
23
And all the people were amazed, and said, Is not this the son of David?
24
But when the Pharisees heard it, they said, This fellow doth not cast out devils, but by Beelzebub the prince of the devils.
25
And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand:
26
And if Satan cast out Satan, he is divided against himself; how shall then his kingdom stand?
Christian Standard Bible

23
All the crowds were astounded and said, "Could this be the Son of David?"
24
When the Pharisees heard this, they said, "This man drives out demons only by Beelzebul, the ruler of the demons."
25
Knowing their thoughts, he told them: "Every kingdom divided against itself is headed for destruction, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.
26
If Satan drives out Satan, he is divided against himself. How then will his kingdom stand?

of all the world.'

24
But when the Pharisees heard about the miracle, they said, 'No wonder he can cast out demons. He gets his power from Satan, the prince of demons.'
25
Jesus knew their thoughts and replied, 'Any kingdom divided by civil war is doomed. A town or family splintered by feuding will fall apart.
26
And if Satan is casting out Satan, he is divided and fighting against himself. His own kingdom will not survive.
