Chapter 7
8 Neglecting the commandment of God, you hold to the tradition of men.'
9
He was also saying to them, 'You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.
10
For Moses said, ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER’; and, ‘THE ONE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER, ISCERTAINLY TO BE PUT TO DEATH’;
11
but you say, ‘If a person says to his father or his mother, whatever I have that would help you is Corban (that is, given to God),’
12
you no longer allow him to do anything for his father or his mother;
13
thereby invalidating the word of God by your tradition which you have handed down; and you do many things such as that.'

Chapter 7
8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 10 For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 11 But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free. 12 And ye suffer him no more to do ought for his father or his mother; 13 Making the word of God of none effect through your tradition, which ye have delivered: and many such like things do ye. 14 And when he had called all the people unto him, he said unto them, Hearken unto me every one of you, and understand: 15 There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. 16 If any man have ears to hear, let him hear. 17 And when he was entered into the house from the people, his disciples asked him concerning the parable. 18 And he saith unto them, Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without entereth into the man, it cannot defile him;Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
8 Abandoning the command of God, you hold on to human tradition." 9 He also said to them, "You have a fine way of invalidating God's command in order to set up your tradition! 10 For Moses said: Honor your father and your mother; and Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death. 11 But you say, 'If anyone tells his father or mother: Whatever benefit you might have received from me is corban' " (that is, an offering devoted to God), 12 "you no longer let him do anything for his father or mother. 13 You nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many other similar things."New Living Translation
Chapter 7
8 For you ignore God's law and substitute your own tradition.'
9
Then he said, 'You skillfully sidestep God's law in order to hold on to your own tradition.
10
For instance, Moses gave you this law from God: 'Honor your father and mother,' and 'Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.'
11
But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, 'Sorry, I can't help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.'
12
In this way, you let them disregard their needy parents.
13
And so you cancel the word of God in order to hand down your own tradition. And this is only one example among many others.'

Chapter 7
8 You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
9
And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!
10
For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’
11
But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)—
12
then you no longer permit him to do anything for his father or mother,
13
thus making void the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And many such things you do.”
14
And he called the people to him again and said to them, “Hear me, all of you, and understand:
15
There is nothing outside a person that by going into him can defile him, but the things that come out of a person are what defile him.”
16
17
And when he had entered the house and left the people, his disciples asked him about the parable.
18
And he said to them, “Then are you also without understanding? Do you not see that whatever goes into a person from outside cannot defile him,

Chapter 7
8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.'
9
And he continued, 'You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
10
For Moses said, 'Honor your father and mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.'
11
But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)--

then you no longer let them do anything for their father or mother.

Thus you nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.'
