Mark 7:6-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 7
6But He said to them, 'Rightly did Isaiah prophesy about you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘THIS PEOPLE HONORS ME WITH THEIR LIPS, BUT THEIR HEART IS FAR AWAY FROM ME. 7AND IN VAIN DO THEY WORSHIP ME, TEACHING AS DOCTRINES THE COMMANDMENTS OF MEN.’
9He was also saying to them, 'You are experts at setting aside the commandment of God in order to keep your tradition.
10For Moses said, ‘HONOR YOUR FATHER AND YOUR MOTHER’; and, ‘THE ONE WHO SPEAKS EVIL OF FATHER OR MOTHER, IS CERTAINLY TO BE PUT TO DEATH’;
11but you say, ‘If a person says to his father or his mother, whatever I have that would help you is Corban (that is, given to God),’
King James Version
Chapter 7
6He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition. 10For Moses said, Honour thy father and thy mother; and, Whoso curseth father or mother, let him die the death: 11But ye say, If a man shall say to his father or mother, It is Corban, that is to say, a gift, by whatsoever thou mightest be profited by me; he shall be free.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 7
6He answered them, "Isaiah prophesied correctly about you hypocrites, as it is written:This people honors me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7They worship me in vain, teaching as doctrines human commands.
8Abandoning the command of God, you hold on to human tradition."
9He also said to them, "You have a fine way of invalidating God's command in order to set up your tradition!
10For Moses said: Honor your father and your mother; and Whoever speaks evil of father or mother must be put to death.
11But you say, 'If anyone tells his father or mother: Whatever benefit you might have received from me is corban' " (that is, an offering devoted to God),
New Living Translation
Chapter 7
6Jesus replied, 'You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you, for he wrote, ‘These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7Their worship is a farce, for they teach man-made ideas as commands from God.’
9Then he said, 'You skillfully sidestep God’s law in order to hold on to your own tradition.
10For instance, Moses gave you this law from God: ‘Honor your father and mother,’ and ‘Anyone who speaks disrespectfully of father or mother must be put to death.’
11But you say it is all right for people to say to their parents, ‘Sorry, I can’t help you. For I have vowed to give to God what I would have given to you.’

8You leave the commandment of God and hold to the tradition of men.”
9And he said to them, “You have a fine way of rejecting the commandment of God in order to establish your tradition!
10For Moses said, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘Whoever reviles father or mother must surely die.’
11But you say, ‘If a man tells his father or his mother, “Whatever you would have gained from me is Corban”’ (that is, given to God)—

Chapter 7
6He replied, 'Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you hypocrites; as it is written: ''These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. 7They worship me in vain; their teachings are merely human rules.'
9And he continued, 'You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
10For Moses said, 'Honor your father and mother,' and, 'Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death.'
11But you say that if anyone declares that what might have been used to help their father or mother is Corban (that is, devoted to God)--
