and looking up to heaven with a deep sigh, He *said to him, 'Ephphatha!' that is, 'Be opened!'

And his ears were opened, and the impediment of his tongue was removed, and he

speaking plainly.

And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain.

Looking up to heaven, he sighed deeply and said to him, "Ephphatha! " (that is, "Be opened! ").

Immediately his ears were opened, his tongue was loosened, and he began to speak clearly.

Looking up to heaven, he sighed and said,
'Ephphatha,'
which means, 'Be opened!'

Instantly the man could hear perfectly, and his tongue was freed so he could speak plainly!
