Chapter 5

35 While He was still speaking, people *came from the house of the synagogue official, saying, 'Your daughter has died; why bother the Teacher further?' 36 But Jesus, overhearing what was being spoken, *said to the synagogue official, 'Do not be afraid, onlybelieve.'

35 While he yet spake, there came from the ruler of the synagogue's house certain which said, Thy daughter is dead: why troublest thou the Master any further? 36 As soon as Jesus heard the word that was spoken, he saith unto the ruler of the synagogue, Be not afraid, only believe.

35 While he was still speaking, people came from the synagogue leader's house and said, "Your daughter is dead. Why bother the teacher anymore? "
36 When Jesus overheard what was said, he told the synagogue leader, "Don't be afraid. Only believe."

35 While he was still speaking to her, messengers arrived from the home of Jairus, the leader of the synagogue. They told him, 'Your daughter is dead. There's no use troubling the Teacher now.'
36 But Jesus overheard them and said to Jairus, 'Don't be afraid. Just have faith.'
