Pharisees came up to Jesus, testing Him, and

questioning Him whether it was lawful for a man to divorce
his
wife.

And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away
his
wife? tempting him.

He set out from there and went to the region of Judea and across the Jordan. Then crowds converged on him again, and as was his custom he taught them again.

Some Pharisees came to test him, asking, "Is it lawful for a man to divorce his wife? "

Then Jesus left Capernaum and went down to the region of Judea and into the area east of the Jordan River. Once again crowds gathered around him, and as usual he was teaching them.

Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question: 'Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife?'
