Chapter 18

22When they had distanced themselves from Micah’s house, the men who were in the houses near Micah’s house assembled by command and overtook the sons of Dan. 23Then they called out to the sons of Dan, who turned around and said to Micah, 'What is the matter with you, that you have assembled together?' 24And he said, 'You have taken my gods which I made, and the priest, and have gone away; what more do I have? So how can you say to me, ‘What is the matter with you?’?' 25Then the sons of Dan said to him, 'Do not let your voice be heard among us, or else fierce men will attack you, and you will lose your life and the lives of your household.' 26So the sons of Dan went on their way; and when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back to his house.

22And when they were a good way from the house of Micah, the men that were in the houses near to Micah's house were gathered together, and overtook the children of Dan. 23And they cried unto the children of Dan. And they turned their faces, and said unto Micah, What aileth thee, that thou comest with such a company? 24And he said, Ye have taken away my gods which I made, and the priest, and ye are gone away: and what have I more? and what is this that ye say unto me, What aileth thee? 25And the children of Dan said unto him, Let not thy voice be heard among us, lest angry fellows run upon thee, and thou lose thy life, with the lives of thy household. 26And the children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they were too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house.

Chapter 18

22After they were some distance from Micah’s house, the men who were in the houses near it were mustered and caught up with the Danites. 23They called to the Danites, who turned to face them, and said to Micah, "What’s the matter with you that you mustered the men?"
24He said, "You took the gods I had made and the priest, and went away. What do I have left? How can you say to me, ‘What’s the matter with you?’"
25The Danites said to him, "Don’t raise your voice against us, or angry men will attack you, and you and your family will lose your lives." 26The Danites went on their way, and Micah turned to go back home, because he saw that they were stronger than he was.

Chapter 18

22When the people from the tribe of Dan were quite a distance from Micah’s house, the people who lived near Micah came chasing after them. 23They were shouting as they caught up with them. The men of Dan turned around and said to Micah, 'What’s the matter? Why have you called these men together and chased after us like this?'
24What do you mean, ‘What’s the matter?’' Micah replied. 'You’ve taken away all the gods I have made, and my priest, and I have nothing left!'
25The men of Dan said, 'Watch what you say! There are some short-tempered men around here who might get angry and kill you and your family.' 26So the men of Dan continued on their way. When Micah saw that there were too many of them for him to attack, he turned around and went home.

24He replied, "You took the gods I made, and my priest, and went away. What else do I have? How can you ask, ‘What’s the matter with you?’ "
25The Danites answered, "Don’t argue with us, or some of the men may get angry and attack you, and you and your family will lose your lives." 26So the Danites went their way, and Micah, seeing that they were too strong for him, turned around and went back home.
