Joel 3:11-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
11
Hurry and come, all you surrounding nations,
And gather yourselves there.
Bring down,
Lord
, Your warriors.
12
Let the nations be awakened
And come up to the Valley of Jehoshaphat,
For there I will sit to judge
All the surrounding nations.
13
Put in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe.
Come, tread
the grapes,
for the wine press is full;
The vats overflow, for their wickedness is great.
14
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision!
For the day of the
Lord
is near in the valley of decision.
15
The sun and moon have become dark,
And the stars have lost their brightness.
16
The
Lord
roars from Zion
And utters His voice from Jerusalem,
And the heavens and the earth quake.
But the
Lord
is a refuge for His people,
And a stronghold for the sons of Israel.
17
Then you will know that I am the
Lord
your God,
Dwelling on Zion, My holy mountain.
So Jerusalem will be holy,
And strangers will no longer pass through it.
18
And on that day
The mountains will drip with sweet wine,
And the hills will flow with milk,
And all the brooks of Judah will flow with water;
And a spring will go out from the house of the
Lord
And water the Valley of Shittim.
19
Egypt will become a wasteland,
And Edom will become a desolate wilderness,
Because of the violence done to the sons of Judah,
In whose land they have shed innocent blood.
20
But Judah will be inhabited forever,
And Jerusalem for all generations.
21
And I will avenge their blood
which
I have not avenged,
For the
Lord
dwells in Zion.
King James Version
Chapter 3
11
Assemble yourselves, and come, all ye heathen, and gather yourselves together round about: thither cause thy mighty ones to come down, O
Lord
.
12
Let the heathen be wakened, and come up to the valley of Jehoshaphat: for there will I sit to judge all the heathen round about.
13
Put ye in the sickle, for the harvest is ripe: come, get you down; for the press is full, the fats overflow; for their wickedness is great.
14
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the
Lord
is near in the valley of decision.
15
The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining.
16
The
Lord
also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the
Lord
will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel.
17
So shall ye know that I am the
Lord
your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more.
18
And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the
Lord
, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
19
Egypt shall be a desolation, and Edom shall be a desolate wilderness, for the violence against the children of Judah, because they have shed innocent blood in their land.
20
But Judah shall dwell for ever, and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21
For I will cleanse their blood that I have not cleansed: for the
Lord
dwelleth in Zion.

Chapter 3
11
Come quickly, all you surrounding nations;
gather yourselves.
Bring down your warriors there,
Lord
.
12
Let the nations be roused
and come to the Valley of Jehoshaphat,
for there I will sit down
to judge all the surrounding nations.
13
Swing the sickle
because the harvest is ripe.
Come and trample the grapes
because the winepress is full;
the wine vats overflow
because the wickedness of the nations is extreme.
14
Multitudes, multitudes
in the valley of decision!
For the day of the
Lord
is near
in the valley of decision.
15
The sun and moon will grow dark,
and the stars will cease their shining.
16
The
Lord
will roar from Zion
and make his voice heard from Jerusalem;
heaven and earth will shake.
But the
Lord
will be a refuge for his people,
a stronghold for the Israelites.
17
Then you will know
that I am the
Lord
your God,
who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain.
Jerusalem will be holy,
and foreigners will never overrun it again.
18
In that day
the mountains will drip with sweet wine,
and the hills will flow with milk.
All the streams of Judah will flow with water,
and a spring will issue from the
Lord
’s house,
watering the Valley of Acacias.
19
Egypt will become desolate,
and Edom a desert wasteland,
because of the violence done to the people of Judah
in whose land they shed innocent blood.
20
But Judah will be inhabited forever,
and Jerusalem from generation to generation.
21
I will pardon their bloodguilt,
which I have not pardoned,
for the
Lord
dwells in Zion.
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
11
Come quickly, all you nations everywhere.
Gather together in the valley.'
And now, O
Lord
, call out your warriors!
12
'Let the nations be called to arms.
Let them march to the valley of Jehoshaphat.
There I, the
Lord
, will sit
to pronounce judgment on them all.
13
Swing the sickle,
for the harvest is ripe.
Come, tread the grapes,
for the winepress is full.
The storage vats are overflowing
with the wickedness of these people.'
14
Thousands upon thousands are waiting in the valley of decision.
There the day of the
Lord
will soon arrive.
15
The sun and moon will grow dark,
and the stars will no longer shine.
16
The
Lord
’s voice will roar from Zion
and thunder from Jerusalem,
and the heavens and the earth will shake.
But the
Lord
will be a refuge for his people,
a strong fortress for the people of Israel.
17
'Then you will know that I, the
Lord
your God,
live in Zion, my holy mountain.
Jerusalem will be holy forever,
and foreign armies will never conquer her again.
18
In that day the mountains will drip with sweet wine,
and the hills will flow with milk.
Water will fill the streambeds of Judah,
and a fountain will burst forth from the
Lord
’s Temple,
watering the arid valley of acacias.
19
But Egypt will become a wasteland
and Edom will become a wilderness,
because they attacked the people of Judah
and killed innocent people in their land.
20
'But Judah will be filled with people forever,
and Jerusalem will endure through all generations.
21
I will pardon my people’s crimes,
which I have not yet pardoned;
and I, the
Lord
, will make my home
in Jerusalem with my people.'
