Job 9:11-19

New American Standard Bible

Chapter 9

11 If He were to pass by me, I would not see Him; Were He to move past me, I would not perceive Him. 12 If He were to snatch away, who could restrain Him? Who could say to Him, ‘What are You doing?’ 13 'God will not turn back His anger; Beneath Him the helpers of Rahab cower. 14 How then can I answer Him, And choose my words before Him? 15 For though I were right, I could not answer; I would have to implore the mercy of my Judge. 16 If I called and He answered me, I could not believe that He was listening to my voice. 17 For He bruises me with a storm And multiplies my wounds without cause. 18 He will not allow me to get my breath, But He saturates me with bitterness. 19 If it is a matter of power, behold, He is the strong one! And if it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?
King James Version

Chapter 9

11 Lo, he goeth by me, and I see him not: he passeth on also, but I perceive him not. 12 Behold, he taketh away, who can hinder him? who will say unto him, What doest thou? 13 If God will not withdraw his anger, the proud helpers do stoop under him.
14 How much less shall I answer him, and choose out my words to reason with him? 15 Whom, though I were righteous, yet would I not answer, but I would make supplication to my judge. 16 If I had called, and he had answered me; yet would I not believe that he had hearkened unto my voice. 17 For he breaketh me with a tempest, and multiplieth my wounds without cause. 18 He will not suffer me to take my breath, but filleth me with bitterness. 19 If I speak of strength, lo, he is strong: and if of judgment, who shall set me a time to plead?

Chapter 9

11 If he passed by me, I wouldn't see him; if he went by, I wouldn't recognize him. 12 If he snatches something, who can stop him? Who can ask him, "What are you doing? " 13 God does not hold back his anger; Rahab's assistants cringe in fear beneath him! 14 How then can I answer him or choose my arguments against him? 15 Even if I were in the right, I could not answer. I could only beg my Judge for mercy. 16 If I summoned him and he answered me, I do not believe he would pay attention to what I said. 17 He batters me with a whirlwind and multiplies my wounds without cause. 18 He doesn't let me catch my breath but fills me with bitter experiences. 19 If it is a matter of strength, look, he is the powerful one! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?
New Living Translation

Chapter 9

11 'Yet when he comes near, I cannot see him. When he moves by, I do not see him go. 12 If he snatches someone in death, who can stop him? Who dares to ask, 'What are you doing?' 13 And God does not restrain his anger. Even the monsters of the sea are crushed beneath his feet.
14 'So who am I, that I should try to answer God or even reason with him? 15 Even if I were right, I would have no defense. I could only plead for mercy. 16 And even if I summoned him and he responded, I'm not sure he would listen to me. 17 For he attacks me with a storm and repeatedly wounds me without cause. 18 He will not let me catch my breath, but fills me instead with bitter sorrows. 19 If it's a question of strength, he's the strong one. If it's a matter of justice, who dares to summon him to court?

Chapter 9

11 Behold, he passes by me, and I see him not; he moves on, but I do not perceive him. 12 Behold, he snatches away; who can turn him back? Who will say to him, ‘What are you doing?’ 13 “God will not turn back his anger; beneath him bowed the helpers of Rahab. 14 How then can I answer him, choosing my words with him? 15 Though I am in the right, I cannot answer him; I must appeal for mercy to my accuser. 16 If I summoned him and he answered me, I would not believe that he was listening to my voice. 17 For he crushes me with a tempest and multiplies my wounds without cause; 18 he will not let me get my breath, but fills me with bitterness. 19 If it is a contest of strength, behold, he is mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon him?
New International Version

Chapter 9

11 When he passes me, I cannot see him; when he goes by, I cannot perceive him. 12 If he snatches away, who can stop him? Who can say to him, 'What are you doing?'
13 God does not restrain his anger; even the cohorts of Rahab cowered at his feet. 14 How then can I dispute with him? How can I find words to argue with him? 15 Though I were innocent, I could not answer him; I could only plead with my Judge for mercy. 16 Even if I summoned him and he responded, I do not believe he would give me a hearing. 17 He would crush me with a storm and multiply my wounds for no reason. 18 He would not let me catch my breath but would overwhelm me with misery. 19 If it is a matter of strength, he is mighty! And if it is a matter of justice, who can challenge him?

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

11 Si El pasara junto a mí, no Lo vería; Si me pasara adelante, no Lo percibiría.

Chapter 9

12 He aquí, arrebatará; ¿quién le hará restituir?

12 He aquí, arrebatará; ¿quién le hará restituir?
