Job 6:12-14
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
12
Is my strength the strength of stones,
Or is my flesh bronze?
13
Is it that my help is not within me,
And that a good outcome is driven away from me?
14
'For the despairing man
there should be
kindness from his friend;
So that he does not abandon the fear of the Almighty.
King James Version
Chapter 6
12
Is
my strength the strength of stones? or
is
my flesh of brass?
13
Is
not my help in me? and is wisdom driven quite from me?
14
To him that is afflicted pity
should be shewed
from his friend; but he forsaketh the fear of the Almighty.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 6
12
Is my strength that of stone, or my flesh made of bronze?
13
Since I cannot help myself, the hope for success has been banished from me.
14
A despairing man should receive loyalty from his friends, even if he abandons the fear of the Almighty.
New Living Translation
Chapter 6
12
Do I have the strength of a stone?
Is my body made of bronze?
13
No, I am utterly helpless,
without any chance of success.
14
'One should be kind to a fainting friend,
but you accuse me without any fear of the Almighty.
English Standard Version
Chapter 6
12
Is my strength the strength of stones, or is my flesh bronze?
13
Have I any help in me, when resource is driven from me?
14
“He who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
New International Version
Chapter 6
12
Do I have the strength of stone? Is my flesh bronze?
13
Do I have any power to help myself, now that success has been driven from me?
14
Anyone who withholds kindness from a friend forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
New King James Version
Chapter 6
12
Is
my strength the strength of stones?
Or is my flesh bronze?
13
Is
my help not within me?
And is success driven from me?
14
“To him who is afflicted, kindness
should be shown
by his friend,
Even though he forsakes the fear of the Almighty.
