Job 6:6-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 6
6
Can something tasteless be eaten without salt,
Or is there any taste in the juice of an alkanet
plant?
7
My soul refuses to touch
them;
They are like loathsome food to me.
8
'Oh, that my request might come to pass,
And that God would grant my hope!
King James Version

Oh that I might have my request; and that God would grant me the thing that I long for!
Christian Standard Bible

I gag at the thought of eating it!
8
'Oh, that I might have my request,
that God would grant my desire.
English Standard Version

and that God would fulfill my hope,
