Job 42:8-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 42
8
Now therefore, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Job, and offer up a burnt offering for yourselves, and My servant Job will pray for you. For I will accept him so as not to do with you
as your
foolishness
deserves,
because you have not spoken of Me what is trustworthy, as My servant Job
has.
'
9
So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite,
and
Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the
Lord
told them; and the
Lord
accepted Job.
King James Version
Chapter 42
8
Therefore take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you: for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant Job.
9
So Eliphaz the Temanite and Bildad the Shuhite and Zophar the Naamathite went, and did according as the
Lord
commanded them: the
Lord
also accepted Job.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 42
8
Now take seven bulls and seven rams, go to my servant Job, and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. Then my servant Job will pray for you. I will surely accept his prayer and not deal with you as your folly deserves. For you have not spoken the truth about me, as my servant Job has."
9
Then Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite went and did as the
Lord
had told them, and the
Lord
accepted Job’s prayer.
New Living Translation
Chapter 42
8
So take seven bulls and seven rams and go to my servant Job and offer a burnt offering for yourselves. My servant Job will pray for you, and I will accept his prayer on your behalf. I will not treat you as you deserve, for you have not spoken accurately about me, as my servant Job has.'
9
So Eliphaz the Temanite, Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite did as the
Lord
commanded them, and the
Lord
accepted Job’s prayer.
