Chapter 41
11Who has been first to give to Me, that I should repay him? Whatever is under the entire heaven is Mine. 12'I will not be silent about his limbs, Or his mighty strength, or his graceful frame. 13Who can strip off his outer covering? Who can pierce his double armor? 14Who can open the doors of his face? Around his teeth there is terror. 15 His strong scales are his pride, Locked as with a tight seal. 16One is so close to another That no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another; They clasp each other and cannot be separated. 18His sneezes flash forth light, And his eyes are like the eye of dawn. 19From his mouth go burning torches; Sparks of fire leap forth. 20From his nostrils smoke goes out As from a boiling pot and burning reeds. 21His breath sets coals aglow, And a flame goes forth from his mouth. 22In his neck dwells strength, And dismay leaps before him. 23The folds of his flesh are joined together, Firm and immovable on him. 24His heart is as firm as a stone, And as firm as a lower millstone. 25When he rises up, the mighty are afraid; Because of the crashing they are bewildered. 26The sword that reaches him cannot prevail, Nor the spear, the dart, or the javelin. 27He regards iron as straw, Bronze as rotten wood. 28The arrow cannot make him flee; Slingstones are turned into stubble for him. 29Clubs are regarded as stubble; He laughs at the rattling of the javelin.King James Version

11Who hath prevented me, that I should repay him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. 12I will not conceal his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. 13Who can discover the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double bridle? 14Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible round about. 15His scales are his pride, shut up together as with a close seal. 16One is so near to another, that no air can come between them. 17They are joined one to another, they stick together, that they cannot be sundered. 18By his neesings a light doth shine, and his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning. 19Out of his mouth go burning lamps, and sparks of fire leap out. 20Out of his nostrils goeth smoke, as out of a seething pot or caldron. 21His breath kindleth coals, and a flame goeth out of his mouth. 22In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him. 23The flakes of his flesh are joined together: they are firm in themselves; they cannot be moved. 24His heart is as firm as a stone; yea, as hard as a piece of the nether millstone. 25When he raiseth up himself, the mighty are afraid: by reason of breakings they purify themselves. 26The sword of him that layeth at him cannot hold: the spear, the dart, nor the habergeon. 27He esteemeth iron as straw, and brass as rotten wood. 28The arrow cannot make him flee: slingstones are turned with him into stubble. 29Darts are counted as stubble: he laugheth at the shaking of a spear.Christian Standard Bible

11Who confronted me, that I should repay him? Everything under heaven belongs to me. 12I cannot be silent about his limbs, his power, and his graceful proportions. 13Who can strip off his outer covering? Who can penetrate his double layer of armor? 14Who can open his jaws, surrounded by those terrifying teeth? 15His pride is in his rows of scales, closely sealed together. 16One scale is so close to another that no air can pass between them. 17They are joined to one another, so closely connected they cannot be separated. 18His snorting flashes with light, while his eyes are like the rays of dawn. 19Flaming torches shoot from his mouth; fiery sparks fly out! 20Smoke billows from his nostrils as from a boiling pot or burning reeds. 21His breath sets coals ablaze, and flames pour out of his mouth. 22Strength resides in his neck, and dismay dances before him. 23The folds of his flesh are joined together, solid as metal and immovable. 24His heart is as hard as a rock, as hard as a lower millstone! 25When Leviathan rises, the mighty are terrified; they withdraw because of his thrashing. 26The sword that reaches him will have no effect, nor will a spear, dart, or arrow. 27He regards iron as straw, and bronze as rotten wood. 28No arrow can make him flee; slingstones become like stubble to him. 29A club is regarded as stubble, and he laughs at the sound of a javelin.New Living Translation
12'I want to emphasize Leviathan’s limbs and its enormous strength and graceful form.
13Who can strip off its hide, and who can penetrate its double layer of armor?
14Who could pry open its jaws? For its teeth are terrible!
15The scales on its back are like rows of shields tightly sealed together.
16They are so close together that no air can get between them.
17Each scale sticks tight to the next. They interlock and cannot be penetrated.
18'When it sneezes, it flashes light! Its eyes are like the red of dawn.
19Lightning leaps from its mouth; flames of fire flash out.
20Smoke streams from its nostrils like steam from a pot heated over burning rushes.
21Its breath would kindle coals, for flames shoot from its mouth.
22'The tremendous strength in Leviathan’s neck strikes terror wherever it goes.
23Its flesh is hard and firm and cannot be penetrated.
24Its heart is hard as rock, hard as a millstone.
25When it rises, the mighty are afraid, gripped by terror.
26No sword can stop it, no spear, dart, or javelin.
27Iron is nothing but straw to that creature, and bronze is like rotten wood.
28Arrows cannot make it flee. Stones shot from a sling are like bits of grass.
29Clubs are like a blade of grass, and it laughs at the swish of javelins.
