Job 30:24-29
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 30
24'Yet does one in a heap of ruins not reach out with his hand, Or in his disaster does he not cry out for help? 25Have I not wept for the one whose life is hard? Was my soul not grieved for the needy? 26When I expected good, evil came; When I waited for light, darkness came. 27 I am seething within and cannot rest; Days of misery confront me. 28I go about mourning without comfort; I stand up in the assembly and cry out for help. 29I have become a brother to jackals, And a companion of ostriches.King James Version
Chapter 30
24Howbeit he will not stretch out his hand to the grave, though they cry in his destruction. 25Did not I weep for him that was in trouble? was not my soul grieved for the poor? 26When I looked for good, then evil came unto me: and when I waited for light, there came darkness. 27My bowels boiled, and rested not: the days of affliction prevented me. 28I went mourning without the sun: I stood up, and I cried in the congregation. 29I am a brother to dragons, and a companion to owls.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 30
24Yet no one would stretch out his hand against a ruined person when he cries out to him for help because of his distress. 25Have I not wept for those who have fallen on hard times? Has my soul not grieved for the needy? 26But when I hoped for good, evil came; when I looked for light, darkness came. 27I am churning within and cannot rest; days of suffering confront me. 28I walk about blackened, but not by the sun. I stood in the assembly and cried out for help. 29I have become a brother to jackals and a companion of ostriches.New Living Translation
Chapter 30
24'Surely no one would turn against the needy when they cry for help in their trouble. 25Did I not weep for those in trouble? Was I not deeply grieved for the needy? 26So I looked for good, but evil came instead. I waited for the light, but darkness fell. 27My heart is troubled and restless. Days of suffering torment me. 28I walk in gloom, without sunlight. I stand in the public square and cry for help. 29Instead, I am considered a brother to jackals and a companion to owls.English Standard Version
