Job 28:3-4
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 28
3
Man
puts an end to darkness,
And to the farthest limit he searches out
The rock in gloom and deep shadow.
4
He sinks a shaft away from inhabited areas,
Forgotten by the foot;
They hang
and
swing, away from people.
King James Version
Chapter 28

He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death.
4
The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant;
even the waters
forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men.
Christian Standard Bible

He cuts a shaft far from human habitation, in places unknown to those who walk above ground. Suspended far away from people, the miners swing back and forth.
New Living Translation

and explore the farthest regions of the earth
as they search in the dark for ore.

far from where anyone lives.
They descend on ropes, swinging back and forth.
