Job 27:11-17
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 27
11I will instruct you in the power of God; What is with the Almighty I will not conceal. 12Behold, all of you have seen it; Why then do you talk of nothing? 13'This is the portion of a wicked person from God, And the inheritance which tyrants receive from the Almighty: 14Though his sons are many, they are destined for the sword; And his descendants will not be satisfied with bread. 15His survivors will be buried because of the plague, And their widows will not be able to weep. 16Though he piles up silver like dust, And prepares garments as plentiful as the clay, 17He may prepare it, but the righteous will wear it And the innocent will divide the silver.King James Version
Chapter 27
11I will teach you by the hand of God: that which is with the Almighty will I not conceal. 12Behold, all ye yourselves have seen it; why then are ye thus altogether vain? 13This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage of oppressors, which they shall receive of the Almighty. 14If his children be multiplied, it is for the sword: and his offspring shall not be satisfied with bread. 15Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep. 16Though he heap up silver as the dust, and prepare raiment as the clay; 17He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on, and the innocent shall divide the silver.Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 27
11I will teach you about God's power. I will not conceal what the Almighty has planned. 12All of you have seen this for yourselves, why do you keep up this empty talk? 13This is a wicked man's lot from God, the inheritance the ruthless receive from the Almighty. 14Even if his children increase, they are destined for the sword; his descendants will never have enough food. 15Those who survive him will be buried by the plague, yet their widows will not weep for them. 16Though he piles up silver like dust and heaps up fine clothing like clay -- 17he may heap it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide up his silver.New Living Translation
Chapter 27
11I will teach you about God’s power. I will not conceal anything concerning the Almighty. 12But you have seen all this, yet you say all these useless things to me.English Standard Version
Chapter 27
11I will teach you concerning the hand of God; what is with the Almighty I will not conceal. 12Behold, all of you have seen it yourselves; why then have you become altogether vain? 13“This is the portion of a wicked man with God, and the heritage that oppressors receive from the Almighty: 14If his children are multiplied, it is for the sword, and his descendants have not enough bread. 15Those who survive him the pestilence buries, and his widows do not weep. 16Though he heap up silver like dust, and pile up clothing like clay, 17he may pile it up, but the righteous will wear it, and the innocent will divide the silver.New International Version
12You have all seen this yourselves. Why then this meaningless talk?
13Here is the fate God allots to the wicked, the heritage a ruthless man receives from the Almighty:
14However many his children, their fate is the sword; his offspring will never have enough to eat.
15The plague will bury those who survive him, and their widows will not weep for them.
16Though he heaps up silver like dust and clothes like piles of clay,
17what he lays up the righteous will wear, and the innocent will divide his silver.
