Chapter 2

3The Lord said to Satan, 'Have you considered My servant Job? For there is no one like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man fearing God and turning away from evil. And he still holds firm to his integrity, although you incited Me against him to ruin him without cause.' 4Satan answered the Lord and said, 'Skin for skin! Yes, all that a man has, he will give for his life. 5However, reach out with Your hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh; he will curse You to Your face!'

Chapter 2

3And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? and still he holdeth fast his integrity, although thou movedst me against him, to destroy him without cause.
4And Satan answered the Lord, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. 5But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Chapter 2

3Then the Lord said to Satan, "Have you considered my servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns away from evil. He still retains his integrity, even though you incited me against him, to destroy him for no good reason."
4"Skin for skin!" Satan answered the Lord. "A man will give up everything he owns in exchange for his life. 5But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face."

3Then the Lord asked Satan, 'Have you noticed my servant Job? He is the finest man in all the earth. He is blameless — a man of complete integrity. He fears God and stays away from evil. And he has maintained his integrity, even though you urged me to harm him without cause.'
4Satan replied to the Lord, 'Skin for skin! A man will give up everything he has to save his life. 5But reach out and take away his health, and he will surely curse you to your face!'
