Chapter 1

10Have You not made a fence around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land. 11But reach out with Your hand now and touch all that he has; he will certainly curse You to Your face.' 12Then the Lord said to Satan, 'Behold, all that he has is in your power; only do not reach out and put your hand on him.' So Satan departed from the presence of the Lord.

10Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. 11But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
12And the Lord said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the Lord.

12All right, you may test him,' the Lord said to Satan. 'Do whatever you want with everything he possesses, but don’t harm him physically.' So Satan left the Lord’s presence.
