Jeremiah 49:17-21

Chapter 49
17Edom will become an object of horror; everyone who passes by it will be appalled and will hiss at all its wounds. 18Like the overthrow of Sodom and Gomorrah with its neighbors,' says the Lord, 'no one will live there, nor will anyone of mankind reside in it. 19Behold, one will come up like a lion from the thicket of the Jordan to a perennially watered pasture; for in an instant I will chase him away from it, and I will appoint over it whoever is chosen. For who is like Me, and who will summon Me into court? And who then is the shepherd who can stand against Me?'
20Therefore hear the plan of the Lord which He has planned against Edom, and His purposes which He has in mind against the inhabitants of Teman: they will certainly drag them off, even the little ones of the flock; He will certainly make their pasture desolate because of them.
21The earth has quaked at the noise of their downfall. There is an outcry! The noise of it has been heard at the Red Sea.

17"Edom will become a desolation. Everyone who passes by her will be appalled and scoff because of all her wounds. 18As when Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown along with their neighbors," says the Lord, "no one will live there; no human being will stay in it even temporarily.
20Therefore, hear the plans that the Lord has drawn up against Edom and the strategies he has devised against the people of Teman: The flock’s little lambs will certainly be dragged away, and their grazing land will be made desolate because of them.
21At the sound of their fall the earth will quake; the sound of her cry will be heard at the Red Sea.

All who pass by will be appalled and will gasp at the destruction they see there. 18It will be like the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns,' says the Lord. 'No one will live there; no one will inhabit it. 19I will come like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan, leaping on the sheep in the pasture. I will chase Edom from its land, and I will appoint the leader of my choice. For who is like me, and who can challenge me? What ruler can oppose my will?'English Standard Version

Everyone who passes by it will be horrified and will hiss because of all its disasters. 18As when Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring cities were overthrown, says the Lord, no man shall dwell there, no man shall sojourn in her. 19Behold, like a lion coming up from the jungle of the Jordan against a perennial pasture, I will suddenly make him run away from her. And I will appoint over her whomever I choose. For who is like me? Who will summon me? What shepherd can stand before me? 20Therefore hear the plan that the Lord has made against Edom and the purposes that he has formed against the inhabitants of Teman: Even the little ones of the flock shall be dragged away. Surely their fold shall be appalled at their fate. 21At the sound of their fall the earth shall tremble; the sound of their cry shall be heard at the Red Sea.New International Version
19"Like a lion coming up from Jordan’s thickets to a rich pastureland, I will chase Edom from its land in an instant. Who is the chosen one I will appoint for this? Who is like me and who can challenge me? And what shepherd can stand against me?"
