Moab has been destroyed and men have gone up to his cities;
His choicest young men have also gone down to the slaughter,'

The destroyer of Moab and its towns has come up, and the best of its young men have gone down to slaughter. This is the King's declaration; the Lord of Armies is his name.

'You used to boast, ‘We are heroes,
mighty men of war.’

But now Moab and his towns will be destroyed.
His most promising youth are doomed to slaughter,'
