Jeremiah 25:29-30
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 25
29
For behold, I am beginning to inflict disaster on
this
city which is called by My name, so should you be completely free from punishment? You will not be free from punishment, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth,' declares the
Lord
of armies.’
30
Therefore you shall prophesy against them all these words, and you shall say to them,
‘The
Lord
will roar from on high
And raise His voice from His holy dwelling;
He will roar forcefully against His fold.
He will shout like those who tread
the grapes,
Against all the inhabitants of the earth.
King James Version
Chapter 25
29
For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the
Lord
of hosts.
30
Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The
Lord
shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 25
29
For I am already bringing disaster on the city that bears my name, so how could you possibly go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth. This is the declaration of the
Lord
of Armies.’
30
"As for you, you are to prophesy all these things to them, and say to them:
The
Lord
roars from on high;
he makes his voice heard from his holy dwelling.
He roars loudly over his grazing land;
he calls out with a shout, like those who tread grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
New Living Translation
Chapter 25
29
I have begun to punish Jerusalem, the city that bears my name. Now should I let you go unpunished? No, you will not escape disaster. I will call for war against all the nations of the earth. I, the
Lord
of Heaven’s Armies, have spoken!’
30
Now prophesy all these things, and say to them,
'‘The
Lord
will roar against his own land
from his holy dwelling in heaven.
He will shout like those who tread grapes;
he will shout against everyone on earth.
English Standard Version
Chapter 25
29
For behold, I begin to work disaster at the city that is called by my name, and shall you go unpunished? You shall not go unpunished, for I am summoning a sword against all the inhabitants of the earth, declares the
Lord
of hosts.’
30
"You, therefore, shall prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:
"‘The
Lord
will roar from on high,
and from his holy habitation utter his voice;
he will roar mightily against his fold,
and shout, like those who tread grapes,
against all the inhabitants of the earth.
New International Version
Chapter 25
29
See, I am beginning to bring disaster on the city that bears my Name, and will you indeed go unpunished? You will not go unpunished, for I am calling down a sword on all who live on the earth, declares the
Lord
Almighty.’
30
"Now prophesy all these words against them and say to them:
" ‘The
Lord
will roar from on high;
he will thunder from his holy dwelling
and roar mightily against his land.
He will shout like those who tread the grapes,
shout against all who live on the earth.
New King James Version
Chapter 25
29
For behold, I begin to bring calamity on the city which is called by My name, and should you be utterly unpunished? You shall not be unpunished, for I will call for a sword on all the inhabitants of the earth,” says the
Lord
of hosts.’
30
“Therefore prophesy against them all these words, and say to them:
‘The
Lord
will roar from on high,
And utter His voice from His holy habitation;
He will roar mightily against His fold.
He will give a shout, as those who tread

Against all the inhabitants of the earth.
