New American Standard Bible
Chapter 1
1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2And the earth was a formless and desolate emptiness, and darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the surface of the waters. 3Then God said, 'Let there be light'; and there was light. 4God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5God called the light 'day,' and the darkness He called 'night.' And there was evening and there was morning, one day.King James Version
2And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
3And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
4And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
5And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
