Ezekiel 47:5-8
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 47
5
Again he measured a thousand;
and it was
a river that I could not wade across, because the water had risen,
enough
water to swim in, a river that could not be crossed
by wading.
6
And he said to me, 'Son of man, have you seen
this?
' Then he brought me back to the bank of the river.
7
Now when I had returned, behold, on the bank of the river
there were
very many trees on the one side and on the other.
8
Then he said to me, 'These waters go out toward the eastern region and go down into the Arabah; then they go toward the sea, being made to flow into the sea, and the waters
of the sea
become fresh.
King James Version
Chapter 47
5
Afterward he measured a thousand; and it was a river that I could not pass over: for the waters were risen, waters to swim in, a river that could not be passed over.
6
And he said unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen this? Then he brought me, and caused me to return to the brink of the river.
7
Now when I had returned, behold, at the bank of the river were very many trees on the one side and on the other.
8
Then said he unto me, These waters issue out toward the east country, and go down into the desert, and go into the sea: which being brought forth into the sea, the waters shall be healed.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 47
5
Again he measured off a third of a mile, and it was a river that I could not cross on foot. For the water had risen; it was deep enough to swim in, a river that could not be crossed on foot.
6
He asked me, "Do you see this, son of man?" Then he led me back to the bank of the river.
7
When I had returned, I saw a very large number of trees along both sides of the riverbank.
8
He said to me, "This water flows out to the eastern region and goes down to the Arabah. When it enters the sea, the sea of foul water, the water of the sea becomes fresh.
New Living Translation
Chapter 47
5
Then he measured another 1,750 feet, and the river was too deep to walk across. It was deep enough to swim in, but too deep to walk through.
6
He asked me, 'Have you been watching, son of man?' Then he led me back along the riverbank.
7
When I returned, I was surprised by the sight of many trees growing on both sides of the river.
8
Then he said to me, 'This river flows east through the desert into the valley of the Dead Sea. The waters of this stream will make the salty waters of the Dead Sea fresh and pure.

Chapter 47
5
He measured off another thousand, but now it was a river that I could not cross, because the water had risen and was deep enough to swim in—a river that no one could cross.
6
He asked me, "Son of man, do you see this?" Then he led me back to the bank of the river.
7
When I arrived there, I saw a great number of trees on each side of the river.
8
He said to me, "This water flows toward the eastern region and goes down into the Arabah, where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh.
New King James Version

When I returned, there, along the bank of the river,
