Ezekiel 34:16-22
New American Standard Bible
17As for you, My flock, this is what the Lord God says: ‘Behold, I am going to judge between one sheep and another, between the rams and the male goats.
18Is it too little a thing for you to feed in the good pasture, that you must trample with your feet the rest of your pastures? Or too little for you to drink the clear waters, that you must muddy the rest with your feet?
19But as for My flock, they must eat what you trample with your feet, and drink what you muddy with your feet!’?'
20Therefore, this is what the Lord God says to them: 'Behold, I, I Myself will also judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
21Since you push away with your side and shoulder, and gore all the weak with your horns until you have scattered them abroad,
22therefore, I will save My flock, and they will no longer be plunder; and I will judge between one sheep and another.
King James Version
17And as for you, O my flock, thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I judge between cattle and cattle, between the rams and the he goats.
18Seemeth it a small thing unto you to have eaten up the good pasture, but ye must tread down with your feet the residue of your pastures? and to have drunk of the deep waters, but ye must foul the residue with your feet?
19And as for my flock, they eat that which ye have trodden with your feet; and they drink that which ye have fouled with your feet.
20Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD unto them; Behold, I, even I, will judge between the fat cattle and between the lean cattle.
21Because ye have thrust with side and with shoulder, and pushed all the diseased with your horns, till ye have scattered them abroad;
22Therefore will I save my flock, and they shall no more be a prey; and I will judge between cattle and cattle.
Christian Standard Bible
17" 'As for you, my flock, the Lord God says this: Look, I am going to judge between one sheep and another, between the rams and goats.
18Isn't it enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of the pasture with your feet? Or isn't it enough that you drink the clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
19Yet my flock has to feed on what your feet have trampled, and drink what your feet have muddied.
20" 'Therefore, this is what the Lord God says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
21Since you have pushed with flank and shoulder and butted all the weak ones with your horns until you scattered them all over,
22I will save my flock. They will no longer be prey, and I will judge between one sheep and another.
New Living Translation
17And as for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign Lord says to his people: I will judge between one animal of the flock and another, separating the sheep from the goats.
18Isn’t it enough for you to keep the best of the pastures for yourselves? Must you also trample down the rest? Isn’t it enough for you to drink clear water for yourselves? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
19Why must my flock eat what you have trampled down and drink water you have fouled?
20Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I will surely judge between the fat sheep and the scrawny sheep.
21For you fat sheep pushed and butted and crowded my sick and hungry flock until you scattered them to distant lands.
22So I will rescue my flock, and they will no longer be abused. I will judge between one animal of the flock and another.
English Standard Version
17“As for you, my flock, thus says the Lord GOD: Behold, I judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and male goats.
18Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the rest of your pasture; and to drink of clear water, that you must muddy the rest of the water with your feet?
19And must my sheep eat what you have trodden with your feet, and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
20“Therefore, thus says the Lord GOD to them: Behold, I, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
21Because you push with side and shoulder, and thrust at all the weak with your horns, till you have scattered them abroad,
22I will rescue my flock; they shall no longer be a prey. And I will judge between sheep and sheep.
New International Version
17'As for you, my flock, this is what the Sovereign LORD says: I will judge between one sheep and another, and between rams and goats.
18Is it not enough for you to feed on the good pasture? Must you also trample the rest of your pasture with your feet? Is it not enough for you to drink clear water? Must you also muddy the rest with your feet?
19Must my flock feed on what you have trampled and drink what you have muddied with your feet?
20'Therefore this is what the Sovereign LORD says to them: See, I myself will judge between the fat sheep and the lean sheep.
21Because you shove with flank and shoulder, butting all the weak sheep with your horns until you have driven them away,
22I will save my flock, and they will no longer be plundered. I will judge between one sheep and another.
New King James Version
17‘And as for you, O My flock, thus says the Lord God: “Behold, I shall judge between sheep and sheep, between rams and goats.
18Is it too little for you to have eaten up the good pasture, that you must tread down with your feet the residue of your pasture—and to have drunk of the clear waters, that you must foul the residue with your feet?
19And as for My flock, they eat what you have trampled with your feet, and they drink what you have fouled with your feet.”
20‘Therefore thus says the Lord God to them: “Behold, I Myself will judge between the fat and the lean sheep.
21Because you have pushed with side and shoulder, butted all the weak ones with your horns, and scattered them abroad,
22therefore I will save My flock, and they shall no longer be a prey; and I will judge between sheep and sheep.
