Ezekiel 33:10-11
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 33
10
Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘This is what you have said: 'Surely our offenses and our sins are upon us, and we are rotting away in them; how then can we survive?'?’
11
Say to them, ‘As I live!’ declares the Lord
God
, ‘I take no pleasure at all in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then should you die, house of Israel?’
King James Version
Chapter 33
10
Therefore, O thou son of man, speak unto the house of Israel; Thus ye speak, saying, If our transgressions and our sins be upon us, and we pine away in them, how should we then live?
11
Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord
God
, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 33
10
"Now as for you, son of man, say to the house of Israel, ‘You have said this: "Our transgressions and our sins are heavy on us, and we are wasting away because of them! How then can we survive?"’
11
Tell them, ‘As I live—this is the declaration of the Lord
God
—I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked person should turn from his way and live. Repent, repent of your evil ways! Why will you die, house of Israel?’
New Living Translation
Chapter 33
10
Son of man, give the people of Israel this message: You are saying, ‘Our sins are heavy upon us; we are wasting away! How can we survive?’
11
As surely as I live, says the Sovereign
Lord
, I take no pleasure in the death of wicked people. I only want them to turn from their wicked ways so they can live. Turn! Turn from your wickedness, O people of Israel! Why should you die?
English Standard Version
Chapter 33

11
Say to them, As I live, declares the Lord
God
, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but that the wicked turn from his way and live; turn back, turn back from your evil ways, for why will you die, O house of Israel?
