says: 'Will you defile yourselves in the way of your fathers and adulterously pursue their detestable things?

the high place whereunto ye go? And the name thereof is called Bamah unto this day.

Wherefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Are ye polluted after the manner of your fathers? and commit ye whoredom after their abominations?

So I asked them, "What is this high place you are going to? " And it is still called Bamah today.'

"Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Lord God says: Are you defiling yourselves the way your ancestors did, and prostituting yourselves with their abhorrent things?
New Living Translation
Chapter 20

I said to them, ‘What is this high place where you are going?’ (This kind of pagan shrine has been called Bamah — ‘high place’ — ever since.)

Therefore, give the people of Israel this message from the Sovereign
Lord
: Do you plan to pollute yourselves just as your ancestors did? Do you intend to keep prostituting yourselves by worshiping vile images?
