Ezekiel 17:16-17
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
16
As I live,’ declares the Lord
God
, ‘In the country of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke, in Babylon he shall certainly die.
17
Pharaoh with
his
mighty army and great contingent will not help him in the war, when they pile up assault ramps and build siege walls to eliminate many lives.
King James Version
Chapter 17
16
As I live, saith the Lord
God
, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17
Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 17
16
"‘As I live—this is the declaration of the Lord
God
—he will die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke.
17
Pharaoh with his mighty army and vast company will not help him in battle, when ramps are built and siege walls constructed to destroy many lives.
New Living Translation
Chapter 17
16
No! For as surely as I live, says the Sovereign
Lord
, the king of Israel will die in Babylon, the land of the king who put him in power and whose treaty he disregarded and broke.
17
Pharaoh and all his mighty army will fail to help Israel when the king of Babylon lays siege to Jerusalem again and destroys many lives.
English Standard Version

God
, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant with him he broke, in Babylon he shall die.
17
Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, when mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.
New International Version

" ‘As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign
Lord
, he shall die in Babylon, in the land of the king who put him on the throne, whose oath he despised and whose treaty he broke.

Pharaoh with his mighty army and great horde will be of no help to him in war, when ramps are built and siege works erected to destroy many lives.
New King James Version
Chapter 17
16

As
I live,’ says the Lord
God
, ‘surely in the place
where
the king
dwells
who made him king, whose oath he despised and whose covenant he broke—with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.
17
Nor will Pharaoh with
his
mighty army and great company do anything in the war, when they heap up a siege mound and build a wall to cut off many persons.
