Ezekiel 16:29-32
New American Standard Bible
30How feverish is your heart,' declares the Lord God, 'while you do all these things, the action of a bold prostitute!
31When you built your shrine at the beginning of every street and made your high place in every public square, in spurning a prostitute’s fee, you were not like a prostitute.
32You adulteress wife, who takes strangers instead of her husband!
King James Version
Chapter 16
29Thou hast moreover multiplied thy fornication in the land of Canaan unto Chaldea; and yet thou wast not satisfied herewith. 30How weak is thine heart, saith the Lord GOD, seeing thou doest all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman; 31In that thou buildest thine eminent place in the head of every way, and makest thine high place in every street; and hast not been as an harlot, in that thou scornest hire; 32But as a wife that committeth adultery, which taketh strangers instead of her husband!Christian Standard Bible
30" 'How your heart was inflamed with lust--the declaration of the Lord God--when you did all these things, the acts of a brazen prostitute,
31building your mound at the head of every street and making your elevated place in every square. But you were unlike a prostitute because you scorned payment.
32You adulterous wife, who receives strangers instead of her husband!
New Living Translation
30What a sick heart you have, says the Sovereign Lord, to do such things as these, acting like a shameless prostitute.
31You build your pagan shrines on every street corner and your altars to idols in every square. In fact, you have been worse than a prostitute, so eager for sin that you have not even demanded payment.
32Yes, you are an adulterous wife who takes in strangers instead of her own husband.
English Standard Version
30“How sick is your heart, declares the Lord GOD, because you did all these things, the deeds of a brazen prostitute,
31building your vaulted chamber at the head of every street, and making your lofty place in every square. Yet you were not like a prostitute, because you scorned payment.
32Adulterous wife, who receives strangers instead of her husband!
