Then
Moses
said, 'Please, show me Your glory!'
19
And He said, 'I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the
Lord
before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion to whom I will show compassion.'
20
He further said, 'You cannot see My face, for mankind shall not see Me and live!'
21
Then the
Lord
said, 'Behold, there is a place by Me, and you shall stand
there
on the rock;

And he said, I beseech thee, shew me thy glory.

And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the

before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy.

And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live.

But he added, "You cannot see my face, for humans cannot see me and live."
