However, Aaron shall make atonement on its horns once a year; he shall make atonement on it with the blood of the sin offering of atonement once a year throughout your generations. It is most holy to the

also spoke to Moses, saying,

When you take a census of the sons of Israel to count them, then each one
of them
shall give a ransom for himself to the
Lord
, when you count them, so that there will be no plague among them when you count them.

And Aaron shall make an atonement upon the horns of it once in a year with the blood of the sin offering of atonements: once in the year shall he make atonement upon it throughout your generations: it

When thou takest the sum of the children of Israel after their number, then shall they give every man a ransom for his soul unto the LORD, when thou numberest them; that there be no plague among them, when

"Once a year Aaron is to perform the atonement ceremony for the altar. Throughout your generations he is to perform the atonement ceremony for it once a year, with the blood of the sin offering for atonement on the horns. The altar is especially holy to the Lord."

The Lord spoke to Moses:

"When you take a census of the Israelites to register them, each of the men must pay a ransom for his life to the Lord as they are registered. Then no plague will come on them as they are registered.

Once a year Aaron must purify the altar by smearing its horns with blood from the offering made to purify the people from their sin. This will be a regular, annual event from generation to generation, for this is the
Lord
’s most holy altar.'

Whenever you take a census of the people of Israel, each man who is counted must pay a ransom for himself to the
Lord
. Then no plague will strike the people as you count them.
