Exodus 30:6-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 30
6
You shall put this altar in front of the veil that is near the ark of the testimony, in front of the atoning cover that is over
the ark of
the testimony, where I will meet with you.
7
Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it; he shall burn it every morning when he trims the lamps.
8
And when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he shall burn incense.
There shall be
perpetual incense before the
Lord
throughout your generations.
9
You shall not offer any strange incense on this altar, or burnt offering, or meal offering; and you shall not pour out a drink offering on it.
King James Version
Chapter 30
6
And thou shalt put it before the vail that is by the ark of the testimony, before the mercy seat that is over the testimony, where I will meet with thee.
7
And Aaron shall burn thereon sweet incense every morning: when he dresseth the lamps, he shall burn incense upon it.
8
And when Aaron lighteth the lamps at even, he shall burn incense upon it, a perpetual incense before the
Lord
throughout your generations.
9
Ye shall offer no strange incense thereon, nor burnt sacrifice, nor meat offering; neither shall ye pour drink offering thereon.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 30
6
"You are to place the altar in front of the curtain by the ark of the testimony—in front of the mercy seat that is over the testimony—where I will meet with you.
7
Aaron must burn fragrant incense on it; he must burn it every morning when he tends the lamps.
8
When Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he must burn incense. There is to be an incense offering before the
Lord
throughout your generations.
9
You must not offer unauthorized incense on it, or a burnt or grain offering; you are not to pour a drink offering on it.
New Living Translation
Chapter 30
6
Place the incense altar just outside the inner curtain that shields the Ark of the Covenant, in front of the Ark’s cover — the place of atonement — that covers the tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant. I will meet with you there.
7
Every morning when Aaron maintains the lamps, he must burn fragrant incense on the altar.
8
And each evening when he lights the lamps, he must again burn incense in the
Lord
’s presence. This must be done from generation to generation.
9
Do not offer any unholy incense on this altar, or any burnt offerings, grain offerings, or liquid offerings.
English Standard Version
Chapter 30
6
And you shall put it in front of the veil that is above the ark of the testimony, in front of the mercy seat that is above the testimony, where I will meet with you.

And Aaron shall burn fragrant incense on it. Every morning when he dresses the lamps he shall burn it,
8
and when Aaron sets up the lamps at twilight, he shall burn it, a regular incense offering before the
Lord
throughout your generations.
9
You shall not offer unauthorized incense on it, or a burnt offering, or a grain offering, and you shall not pour a drink offering on it.
New International Version
