Exodus 3:17-21
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 3
17
So I said, I will bring you up out of the oppression of Egypt to the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, to a land flowing with milk and honey.
18
Then they will pay attention to what you say; and you with the elders of Israel will come to the king of Egypt, and you will say to him, ‘The
Lord
, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So now, please let us go a three days’ journey into the wilderness, so that we may sacrifice to the
Lord
our God.’
19
But I know that the king of Egypt will not permit you to go, except under compulsion.
20
So I will reach out with My hand and strike Egypt with all My miracles which I shall do in the midst of it; and after that he will let you go.
21
I will grant this people favor in the sight of the Egyptians; and it shall be that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.
King James Version
Chapter 3
17
And I have said, I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt unto the land of the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Amorites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, unto a land flowing with milk and honey.
18
And they shall hearken to thy voice: and thou shalt come, thou and the elders of Israel, unto the king of Egypt, and ye shall say unto him, The
Lord
God of the Hebrews hath met with us: and now let us go, we beseech thee, three days' journey into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to the
Lord
our God.
19
And I am sure that the king of Egypt will not let you go, no, not by a mighty hand.
20
And I will stretch out my hand, and smite Egypt with all my wonders which I will do in the midst thereof: and after that he will let you go.
21
And I will give this people favour in the sight of the Egyptians: and it shall come to pass, that, when ye go, ye shall not go empty:

Chapter 3
17
And I have promised you that I will bring you up from the misery of Egypt to the land of the Canaanites, Hethites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites—a land flowing with milk and honey.
18
They will listen to what you say. Then you, along with the elders of Israel, must go to the king of Egypt and say to him: The
Lord
, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Now please let us go on a three-day trip into the wilderness so that we may sacrifice to the
Lord
our God.
19
"However, I know that the king of Egypt will not allow you to go, even under force from a strong hand.
20
But when I stretch out my hand and strike Egypt with all my miracles that I will perform in it, after that, he will let you go.
21
And I will give these people such favor with the Egyptians that when you go, you will not go empty-handed.
New Living Translation
Chapter 3
17
I have promised to rescue you from your oppression in Egypt. I will lead you to a land flowing with milk and honey — the land where the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites, and Jebusites now live.'’
18
The elders of Israel will accept your message. Then you and the elders must go to the king of Egypt and tell him, ‘The
Lord
, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. So please let us take a three-day journey into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the
Lord
, our God.’
19
But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand forces him.
20
So I will raise my hand and strike the Egyptians, performing all kinds of miracles among them. Then at last he will let you go.
21
And I will cause the Egyptians to look favorably on you. They will give you gifts when you go so you will not leave empty-handed.
