Exodus 12:9-12
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 12
9
Do not eat any of it raw or boiled at all with water, but rather roasted with fire,
both
its head and its legs along with its entrails.
10
And you shall not leave any of it over until morning, but whatever is left of it until morning, you shall completely burn with fire.
11
Now you shall eat it in this way:
with your garment
belted around your waist, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it in a hurry—it is the
Lord
’S Passover.
12
For I will go through the land of Egypt on that night, and fatally strike all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the human
firstborn
to animals; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgments—I am the
Lord
.
King James Version
Chapter 12
9
Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof.
10
And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire.
11
And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the
Lord
'S passover.
12
For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the
Lord
.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 12
9
Do not eat any of it raw or cooked in boiling water, but only roasted over fire—its head as well as its legs and inner organs.
10
You must not leave any of it until morning; any part of it left until morning you must burn.
11
Here is how you must eat it: You must be dressed for travel, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in a hurry; it is the
Lord
’s Passover.
12
"I will pass through the land of Egypt on that night and strike every firstborn male in the land of Egypt, both people and animals. I am the
Lord
; I will execute judgments against all the gods of Egypt.
New Living Translation
Chapter 12
9
Do not eat any of the meat raw or boiled in water. The whole animal — including the head, legs, and internal organs — must be roasted over a fire.
10
Do not leave any of it until the next morning. Burn whatever is not eaten before morning.
11
These are your instructions for eating this meal: Be fully dressed, wear your sandals, and carry your walking stick in your hand. Eat the meal with urgency, for this is the
Lord
’s Passover.
12
On that night I will pass through the land of Egypt and strike down every firstborn son and firstborn male animal in the land of Egypt. I will execute judgment against all the gods of Egypt, for I am the
Lord
!
