Acts 16:25-31
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 16
25
Now about midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the prisoners were listening to them;
26
and suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken; and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains were unfastened.
27
When the jailer awoke and saw the prison doors opened, he drew
his
sword and was about to kill himself, thinking that the prisoners had escaped.
28
But Paul called out with a loud voice, saying, 'Do not harm yourself, for we are all here!'
29
And
the jailer
asked for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear, he fell down before Paul and Silas;
30
and after he brought them out, he said, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?'
31
They said, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.'
King James Version
Chapter 16
25
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
26
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
27
And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
28
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
29
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
30
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
31
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.

Chapter 16
25
About midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the prisoners were listening to them.
26
Suddenly there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the jail were shaken, and immediately all the doors were opened, and everyone’s chains came loose.
27
When the jailer woke up and saw the doors of the prison standing open, he drew his sword and was going to kill himself, since he thought the prisoners had escaped.
28
But Paul called out in a loud voice, "Don’t harm yourself, because we’re all here!"
29
The jailer called for lights, rushed in, and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
30
He escorted them out and said, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?"
31
They said, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved—you and your household."
New Living Translation
Chapter 16
25
Around midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening.
26
Suddenly, there was a massive earthquake, and the prison was shaken to its foundations. All the doors immediately flew open, and the chains of every prisoner fell off!
27
The jailer woke up to see the prison doors wide open. He assumed the prisoners had escaped, so he drew his sword to kill himself.
28
But Paul shouted to him, 'Stop! Don’t kill yourself! We are all here!'
29
The jailer called for lights and ran to the dungeon and fell down trembling before Paul and Silas.
30
Then he brought them out and asked, 'Sirs, what must I do to be saved?'
31
They replied, 'Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved, along with everyone in your household.'
