2 Kings 21:12-26
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 21
12therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel says: ‘Behold, I am bringing such a disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that whoever hears about it, both of his ears will ring. 13I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria and the plummet of the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean just as one wipes a bowl, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14And I will abandon the remnant of My inheritance and hand them over to their enemies, and they will become as plunder and spoils to all their enemies, 15because they have done evil in My sight, and have been provoking Me to anger since the day their fathers came from Egypt, even to this day.’?'
16Furthermore, Manasseh shed very much innocent blood until he had filled Jerusalem from one end to another, besides his sin into which he misled Judah, in doing evil in the sight of the Lord.
17Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh and all that he did, and his sin which he committed, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
18And Manasseh lay down with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza, and his son Amon became king in his place.
19Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned for two years in Jerusalem; and his mother’s name was Meshullemeth the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20He did evil in the sight of the Lord, just as his father Manasseh had done.
21For he walked entirely in the way that his father had walked, and served the idols that his father had served, and worshiped them.
22So he abandoned the Lord, the God of his fathers, and did not walk in the way of the Lord.
23And the servants of Amon conspired against him and killed the king in his own house.
24Then the people of the land killed all those who had conspired against King Amon, and the people of the land made his son Josiah king in his place.
25Now the rest of the acts of Amon which he did, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
26He was buried in his grave in the garden of Uzza, and his son Josiah became king in his place.

Chapter 21
12Therefore thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Behold, I am bringing such evil upon Jerusalem and Judah, that whosoever heareth of it, both his ears shall tingle. 13And I will stretch over Jerusalem the line of Samaria, and the plummet of the house of Ahab: and I will wipe Jerusalem as a man wipeth a dish, wiping it, and turning it upside down. 14And I will forsake the remnant of mine inheritance, and deliver them into the hand of their enemies; and they shall become a prey and a spoil to all their enemies; 15Because they have done that which was evil in my sight, and have provoked me to anger, since the day their fathers came forth out of Egypt, even unto this day.
17Now the rest of the acts of Manasseh, and all that he did, and his sin that he sinned, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?
18And Manasseh slept with his fathers, and was buried in the garden of his own house, in the garden of Uzza: and Amon his son reigned in his stead.
19Amon was twenty and two years old when he began to reign, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. And his mother's name was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz of Jotbah.
20And he did that which was evil in the sight of the Lord, as his father Manasseh did.
21And he walked in all the way that his father walked in, and served the idols that his father served, and worshipped them:
22And he forsook the Lord God of his fathers, and walked not in the way of the Lord.
23And the servants of Amon conspired against him, and slew the king in his own house.
24And the people of the land slew all them that had conspired against king Amon; and the people of the land made Josiah his son king in his stead.

Chapter 21
12this is what the Lord God of Israel says: ‘I am about to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that everyone who hears about it will shudder. 13I will stretch over Jerusalem the measuring line used on Samaria and the mason’s level used on the house of Ahab, and I will wipe Jerusalem clean as one wipes a bowl—wiping it and turning it upside down. 14I will abandon the remnant of my inheritance and hand them over to their enemies. They will become plunder and spoil to all their enemies, 15because they have done what is evil in my sight and have angered me from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until today.’"
17The rest of the events of Manasseh’s reign, along with all his accomplishments and the sin that he committed, are written in the Historical Record of Judah’s Kings.
18Manasseh rested with his fathers and was buried in the garden of his own house, the garden of Uzza. His son Amon became king in his place.
19Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.
20He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, just as his father Manasseh had done.
21He walked in all the ways his father had walked; he served the idols his father had served, and he bowed in worship to them.
22He abandoned the Lord God of his ancestors and did not walk in the ways of the Lord.

Chapter 21
12So this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I will bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of those who hear about it will tingle with horror. 13I will judge Jerusalem by the same standard I used for Samaria and the same measure I used for the family of Ahab. I will wipe away the people of Jerusalem as one wipes a dish and turns it upside down. 14Then I will reject even the remnant of my own people who are left, and I will hand them over as plunder for their enemies. 15For they have done great evil in my sight and have angered me ever since their ancestors came out of Egypt.'
17The rest of the events in Manasseh’s reign and everything he did, including the sins he committed, are recorded in The Book of the History of the Kings of Judah.
18When Manasseh died, he was buried in the palace garden, the garden of Uzza. Then his son Amon became the next king.
19Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother was Meshullemeth, the daughter of Haruz from Jotbah.
20He did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, just as his father, Manasseh, had done.
21He followed the example of his father, worshiping the same idols his father had worshiped.
22He abandoned the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and he refused to follow the Lord’s ways.

12Therefore this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I am going to bring such disaster on Jerusalem and Judah that the ears of everyone who hears of it will tingle. 13I will stretch out over Jerusalem the measuring line used against Samaria and the plumb line used against the house of Ahab. I will wipe out Jerusalem as one wipes a dish, wiping it and turning it upside down. 14I will forsake the remnant of my inheritance and give them into the hands of enemies. They will be looted and plundered by all their enemies; 15they have done evil in my eyes and have aroused my anger from the day their ancestors came out of Egypt until this day."

19Amon was twenty-two years old when he became king, and he reigned in Jerusalem two years. His mother’s name was Meshullemeth daughter of Haruz; she was from Jotbah.
20He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, as his father Manasseh had done.
21He followed completely the ways of his father, worshiping the idols his father had worshiped, and bowing down to them.
22He forsook the Lord, the God of his ancestors, and did not walk in obedience to him.
