He also took up the coat of Elijah that had fallen from him, and he went back and stood by the bank of the Jordan.

Then he took the coat of Elijah that had fallen from him and struck the waters, and said, 'Where is the
Lord
, the God of Elijah?' And when he also had struck the waters, they were divided here and there; and Elisha crossed over.
15
Now when the sons of the prophets who
were
at Jericho opposite
him
saw him, they said, 'The spirit of Elijah has settled on Elisha.' And they came to meet him and bowed down to the ground before him.

He took up also the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and went back, and stood by the bank of Jordan;

And he took the mantle of Elijah that fell from him, and smote the waters, and said, Where is the
Lord
God of Elijah? and when he also had smitten the waters, they parted hither and thither: and Elisha went over.

And when the sons of the prophets which were to view at Jericho saw him, they said, The spirit of Elijah doth rest on Elisha. And they came to meet him, and bowed themselves to the ground before him.

He took the mantle Elijah had dropped, and he struck the water. "Where is the

God of Elijah?" he asked. He struck the water himself, and it parted to the right and the left, and Elisha crossed over.

When the sons of the prophets from Jericho who were observing saw him, they said, "The spirit of Elijah rests on Elisha." They came to meet him and bowed down to the ground in front of him.

Elisha picked up Elijah’s cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River.

He struck the water with Elijah’s cloak and cried out, 'Where is the
Lord
, the God of Elijah?' Then the river divided, and Elisha went across.

When the group of prophets from Jericho saw from a distance what happened, they exclaimed, 'Elijah’s spirit rests upon Elisha!' And they went to meet him and bowed to the ground before him.
