2 Kings 17:23-24
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 17
23
until the
Lord
removed Israel from His sight, just as He had spoken through all His servants the prophets. So Israel went into exile from their own land to Assyria until this day.
24
Then the king of Assyria brought
people
from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim, and settled
them
in the cities of Samaria in place of the sons of Israel. So they took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.
King James Version
Chapter 17
23
Until the LORD removed Israel out of his sight, as he had said by all his servants the prophets. So was Israel carried away out of their own land to Assyria unto this day.
24
And the king of Assyria brought
men
from Babylon, and from Cuthah, and from Ava, and from Hamath, and from Sepharvaim, and placed
them
in the cities of Samaria instead of the children of Israel: and they possessed Samaria, and dwelt in the cities thereof.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 17
23
Finally, the Lord removed Israel from his presence just as he had declared through all his servants the prophets. So Israel has been exiled to Assyria from their homeland to this very day.
24
Then the king of Assyria brought people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and settled them in place of the Israelites in the cities of Samaria. The settlers took possession of Samaria and lived in its cities.
New Living Translation
Chapter 17
23
until the
Lord
finally swept them away from his presence, just as all his prophets had warned. So Israel was exiled from their land to Assyria, where they remain to this day.
24
The king of Assyria transported groups of people from Babylon, Cuthah, Avva, Hamath, and Sepharvaim and resettled them in the towns of Samaria, replacing the people of Israel. They took possession of Samaria and lived in its towns.
English Standard Version
