2 Kings 15:23-29
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 15
23
In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekahiah the son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria,
and reigned
for two years.
24
He did evil in the sight of the
Lord
; he did not desist from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, into which he misled Israel.
25
Then Pekah the son of Remaliah, his officer, conspired against him and struck him in Samaria, in the castle of the king’s house with Argob and Arieh; and with him were fifty men of the Gileadites, and he killed him and became king in his place.
26
Now
as for
the rest of the acts of Pekahiah and everything that he did, behold, they are written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
27
In the fifty-second year of Azariah king of Judah, Pekah the son of Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria,
and he reigned
for twenty years.
28
He did evil in the sight of the
Lord
; he did not desist from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, into which he misled Israel.
29
In the days of Pekah king of Israel, Tiglath-pileser the king of Assyria came and took Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali; and he led their populations into exile to Assyria.
King James Version
Chapter 15
23
In the fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekahiah the son of Menahem began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned two years.
24
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the
Lord
: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
25
But Pekah the son of Remaliah, a captain of his, conspired against him, and smote him in Samaria, in the palace of the king's house, with Argob and Arieh, and with him fifty men of the Gileadites: and he killed him, and reigned in his room.
26
And the rest of the acts of Pekahiah, and all that he did, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.
27
In the two and fiftieth year of Azariah king of Judah Pekah the son of Remaliah began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned twenty years.
28
And he did that which was evil in the sight of the
Lord
: he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin.
29
In the days of Pekah king of Israel came Tiglathpileser king of Assyria, and took Ijon, and Abelbethmaachah, and Janoah, and Kedesh, and Hazor, and Gilead, and Galilee, all the land of Naphtali, and carried them captive to Assyria.

Chapter 15
23
In the fiftieth year of Judah’s King Azariah, Pekahiah son of Menahem became king over Israel in Samaria, and he reigned two years.
24
He did what was evil in the
Lord
’s sight and did not turn away from the sins Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
25
Then his officer, Pekah son of Remaliah, conspired against him and struck him down in Samaria at the citadel of the king’s palace —with Argob and Arieh. There were fifty Gileadite men with Pekah. He killed Pekahiah and became king in his place.
26
As for the rest of the events of Pekahiah’s reign, along with all his accomplishments, they are written in the Historical Record of Israel’s Kings.
27
In the fifty-second year of Judah’s King Azariah, Pekah son of Remaliah became king over Israel in Samaria, and he reigned twenty years.
28
He did what was evil in the
Lord
’s sight. He did not turn away from the sins Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to commit.
29
In the days of King Pekah of Israel, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria came and captured Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, Hazor, Gilead, and Galilee—all the land of Naphtali —and deported the people to Assyria.
New Living Translation
Chapter 15
23
Pekahiah son of Menahem began to rule over Israel in the fiftieth year of King Uzziah’s reign in Judah. He reigned in Samaria two years.
24
But Pekahiah did what was evil in the
Lord
’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.
25
Then Pekah son of Remaliah, the commander of Pekahiah’s army, conspired against him. With fifty men from Gilead, Pekah assassinated the king, along with Argob and Arieh, in the citadel of the palace at Samaria. And Pekah reigned in his place.
26
The rest of the events in Pekahiah’s reign and everything he did are recorded in
The Book of the History of the Kings of Israel.
27
Pekah son of Remaliah began to rule over Israel in the fifty-second year of King Uzziah’s reign in Judah. He reigned in Samaria twenty years.
28
But Pekah did what was evil in the
Lord
’s sight. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam son of Nebat had led Israel to commit.
29
During Pekah’s reign, King Tiglath-pileser of Assyria attacked Israel again, and he captured the towns of Ijon, Abel-beth-maacah, Janoah, Kedesh, and Hazor. He also conquered the regions of Gilead, Galilee, and all of Naphtali, and he took the people to Assyria as captives.
