2 Kings 13:6-9
New American Standard Bible
Chapter 13
6
Nevertheless they did not abandon the sins of the house of Jeroboam, into which he misled Israel;
rather,
they walked in them; and the Asherah also remained standing in Samaria.
7
For he left to Jehoahaz no more of the army than fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand infantry, because the king of Aram had eliminated them and made them like the dust at threshing.
8
Now
as for
the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did and his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
9
And Jehoahaz lay down with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria; and his son Joash became king in his place.
King James Version
Chapter 13
6
Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)
7
Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
8
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?
9
And Jehoahaz slept with his fathers; and they buried him in Samaria: and Joash his son reigned in his stead.
Christian Standard Bible
Chapter 13
6
but they didn’t turn away from the sins that the house of Jeroboam had caused Israel to commit. Jehoahaz continued them, and the Asherah pole also remained standing in Samaria.
7
Jehoahaz did not have an army left, except for fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand foot soldiers, because the king of Aram had destroyed them, making them like dust at threshing.
8
The rest of the events of Jehoahaz’s reign, along with all his accomplishments and his might, are written in the Historical Record of Israel’s Kings.
9
Jehoahaz rested with his fathers, and he was buried in Samaria. His son Jehoash became king in his place.
New Living Translation
Chapter 13
6
But they continued to sin, following the evil example of Jeroboam. They also allowed the Asherah pole in Samaria to remain standing.
7
Finally, Jehoahaz’s army was reduced to 50 charioteers, 10 chariots, and 10,000 foot soldiers. The king of Aram had killed the others, trampling them like dust under his feet.
8
The rest of the events in Jehoahaz’s reign — everything he did and the extent of his power — are recorded in
The Book of the History of the Kings of Israel.
9
When Jehoahaz died, he was buried in Samaria. Then his son Jehoash became the next king.
English Standard Version
Chapter 13
6
Nevertheless, they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, which he made Israel to sin, but walked in them; and the Asherah also remained in Samaria.)
7
For there was not left to Jehoahaz an army of more than fifty horsemen and ten chariots and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing.
8
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz and all that he did, and his might, are they not written in the Book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel?
9
So Jehoahaz slept with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria, and Joash his son reigned in his place.
New International Version
Chapter 13
6
But they did not turn away from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, which he had caused Israel to commit; they continued in them. Also, the Asherah pole remained standing in Samaria.
7
Nothing had been left of the army of Jehoahaz except fifty horsemen, ten chariots and ten thousand foot soldiers, for the king of Aram had destroyed the rest and made them like the dust at threshing time.
8
As for the other events of the reign of Jehoahaz, all he did and his achievements, are they not written in the book of the annals of the kings of Israel?
9
Jehoahaz rested with his ancestors and was buried in Samaria. And Jehoash his son succeeded him as king.
New King James Version
Chapter 13
6
Nevertheless they did not depart from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who had made Israel sin,
but
walked in them; and the wooden image also remained in Samaria.
7
For He left of the army of Jehoahaz only fifty horsemen, ten chariots, and ten thousand foot soldiers; for the king of Syria had destroyed them and made them like the dust at threshing.
8
Now the rest of the acts of Jehoahaz, all that he did, and his might,
are
they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

So Jehoahaz rested with his fathers, and they buried him in Samaria. Then Joash his son reigned in his place.
