Chapter 6
16Now then, Lord, God of Israel, keep to Your servant David, my father, that which You promised him, saying, ‘ You shall not lack a man to sit on the throne of Israel, if only your sons pay attention to their way, to walk in My Law as you have walked before Me.’ 17Now then, Lord, God of Israel, let Your word be confirmed which You have spoken to Your servant David.King James Version

16Now therefore, O LORD God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me. 17Now then, O LORD God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David. 18But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!Christian Standard Bible

16Therefore, Lord God of Israel, keep what you promised to your servant, my father David: "You will never fail to have a man to sit before me on the throne of Israel, if only your sons take care to walk in my Law as you have walked before me." 17Now, Lord God of Israel, please confirm what you promised to your servant David. 18But will God indeed live on earth with humans? Even heaven, the highest heaven, cannot contain you, much less this temple I have built.New Living Translation
