Chapter 6

9Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he shall build the house for My name.’ 10Now the Lord has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in place of my father David and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

9Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name. 10The Lord therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

9Yet, you are not the one to build the temple, but your son, your own offspring, will build the temple for my name." 10So the Lord has fulfilled what he promised. I have taken the place of my father David and I sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised. I have built the temple for the name of the Lord, the God of Israel.

9but you are not the one to do it. One of your own sons will build the Temple to honor me.’
