Chapter 30

6Also, David was in great distress because the people spoke of stoning him, for all the people were embittered, each one because of his sons and his daughters. But David felt strengthened in the Lord his God.
7Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelech, 'Please bring me the ephod.' So Abiathar brought the ephod to David. 8And David inquired of the Lord, saying, 'Shall I pursue this band of raiders? Will I overtake them?' And He said to him, 'Pursue, for you will certainly overtake them, and you will certainly rescue everyone.' 9So David left, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and they came to the brook Besor, where some who were left behind stayed.

6And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the Lord his God.
7And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. 8And David enquired at the Lord, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.
9So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.

Chapter 30

6David was in an extremely difficult position because the troops talked about stoning him, for they were all very bitter over the loss of their sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
7David said to the priest Abiathar son of Ahimelech, "Bring me the ephod." So Abiathar brought it to him,
8and David asked the Lord: "Should I pursue these raiders? Will I overtake them?" The Lord replied to him, "Pursue them, for you will certainly overtake them and rescue the people."
9So David and the six hundred men with him went. They came to the Wadi Besor, where some stayed behind.

Chapter 30

6David was now in great danger because all his men were very bitter about losing their sons and daughters, and they began to talk of stoning him. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
7Then he said to Abiathar the priest, 'Bring me the ephod!' So Abiathar brought it.
8Then David asked the Lord, 'Should I chase after this band of raiders? Will I catch them?' And the Lord told him, 'Yes, go after them. You will surely recover everything that was taken from you!'
9So David and his 600 men set out, and they came to the brook Besor.

8and David inquired of the Lord, "Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?" "Pursue them," he answered. "You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue."
9David and the six hundred men with him came to the Besor Valley, where some stayed behind.

9So David went, he and the six hundred men who were with him, and came to the Brook Besor, where those stayed who were left behind.
