and they took captive the women
and all
who were in it, from the small to the great, without killing anyone, and drove
them
off and went their way.

When David and his men came to the city, behold, it was burned with fire, and their wives, their sons, and their daughters had been taken captive.

Then David and the people who were with him raised their voices and wept until there was no strength in them to weep.

And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way.

So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.

Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

They also had kidnapped the women and everyone in it from youngest to oldest. They had killed no one but had carried them off as they went on their way.

When David and his men arrived at the town, they found it burned. Their wives, sons, and daughters had been kidnapped.

David and the troops with him wept loudly until they had no strength left to weep.

When David and his men saw the ruins and realized what had happened to their families,
